44 players named to Canadian passages for return of worldwide occasion to Truro
CALGARY, Alberta – Group Canada East and Group Canada West have reported their last programs in front of the 2023 World Junior A Hockey Challenge, and 44 of the top Junior A players in Canada will wear the Maple Leaf in Truro, Nova Scotia, Dec. 10-17 .
The players named to Canada East were chosen from the five eastern associations in the Canadian Junior Hockey Association (CJHL) – the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey Association (NOJHL), Ontario Junior Hockey Association (OJHL), Focal Canada Hockey Association (CCHL), Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec (LHJAAAQ) and Oceanic Hockey Association (MHL). Canada West chose its players from CJHL’s four western associations – the Alberta Junior Hockey Association (AJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey Association (MJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey Association (SJHL) and Prevalent Global Junior Hockey Association (SIJHL).
Canada East’s 22-player program was chosen by lead trainer Billy McGuigan (Summerside, PE/Summerside, MHL) , close by overseer of tasks Chris Vanstone (Mississauga, ON/Ontario Junior Hockey Association) .
